To shave without cutting one’s self has been a dilemma for men. This however is something that happens always to men and women when they are at home getting ready to go for work in a hurry. However, with the innovation of the electric razor, this has been solved but at he cost of having a close shave.
Always make sure that your blade is sharp. You must change your blade at least once a year. A dull blade will prevent you from having a great shave and could also end up irritating your skin.
Wash your face with warm water to soften your beard or stubble. You can also wet a face towel with warm water and put it on the area you want to shave. After a couple of minutes, dry your face.
If you do not like cleaning your face with warm water, alcohol based pre-shave can be used. If alcohol irritates your skin, use a powder type. These eliminate oil from the face and make the hair stand up making them simpler to shave.
Discover the grain of your facial hair. Constantly shave against the grain. Rub your face. The smoother direction is “with the grain” and the direction with some resistance is “against the grain”. Shaving against the grain will give you a much closer shave.
Make use of one hand to pull the skin a little tight and use the other hand to hold the electrical shaver. This will make the hair stand while shaving and can give you a more detailed shave.
To keep the gentleness of the skin, you should use lotion specifically if you make use of alcohol based pre-shave since alcohol dries out the face.
Always clean the electric shaver:
Raise the head of the electric shaver and brush the bits of hair from the cutter with a cleaning brush to avoid them from blocking the screen. After cleaning them and putting them back together, spray a little lubricant on the screen while the electric shaver is switched on. This will help keep the blade sharp and make the electric shaver run smoother the next time you use it.
Always use a branded electric shaver as the results of your shave will depend on the workmanship of the electric shaver.
